This page explains what Galette does with your email when you join the waitlist. Short version: we use it to tell you when Galette launches, and nothing else.
What we collect
When you join the waitlist we store three things: your email address, the time you signed up, and which form you used (for example the one at the top of the page). That is all.
We do not store your IP address. To stop bots flooding the form we keep a scrambled one-way code made from your IP address for up to 10 minutes, and then it is deleted. This site sets no cookies and shows no ads. To learn how many people visit and how fast the pages load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which adds one small script from Cloudflare to the page. It counts visits, which site or link sent you, your country, your device type and page speed, and it does not use cookies or build profiles of individual visitors. We also keep our own simple counts in the same database: visits per day, which link or source brought you, whether you were on a phone or a computer, and how many people signed up from each source. These counts are not tied to your email, your IP address or any ID. We do not track you across other sites.
Why we collect it
To send you one email when Galette launches, and a small number of updates about the launch if you stay on the list. The visit counts help us see what is working on the site. We do not sell your email, share it for advertising, or use it for anything unrelated.
Who processes it
Cloudflare hosts this site, stores the waitlist and provides the visit counts, and its servers are in the United States and other countries, so your email can be processed outside Hong Kong. When we are ready to email the list, we will use an email delivery service, which will only handle your email to send our messages. We will name it on this page before we send anything. Nobody else gets your email.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until we have sent the launch email, then delete the waitlist within 30 days, unless you have asked to keep hearing from us. If Galette has not launched within 18 months of you joining, we delete your email then.
Your choices and how to delete your data
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. You can also email privacy@getgalette.com at any time to ask what we hold about you, correct it or delete it, and we will reply within 30 days. Joining is your choice, and you can leave at any time.
